Kendi ties was created with the intention of making neckwear less boring in New York City in 2005.

The unique Dagger Tie is cut on a 45-degree angle, unlike the traditional diamond tipped tie. The concept of Kendi Ties is to use fabrics atypical to neckwear. By using a fabric such as brushed cotton buffalo plaid, which is typically used for outdoor wear, the fabric becomes recontextualized in the shape of the traditionally formal necktie.

For every new Kendi Tie collection, an up-coming artist creates a portfolio of original drawings which can be viewed in the catalogue or on the website.

All Kendi Ties are handmade in New York City.
